This is a review of my ariens zoom 34 zero turn mower and also engine replacement ideas

I think ariens has figured out that a single cylinder just dose not have the power needed because the new zoom 34 has a v twin kohler

I wouldn't change it, it's a I/C that's good. There is not much difference from 13- 16hp and not much difference from 16-19hp they still share a similar sized crank. You can upgrade later to a heavier larger deck model in a few years and you don't want to be mowing through wet grass much, but if you must bring your deck up all the way and just go over it once then bring it back down for the rest, avoid those kind of property's and, keep the deck dry. The 34 will be useful in the future since you can get through fences, but the larger zero turn will have a 19-27hp on it on the next mower, more power to smaller wheels may be hard on the turf. If you must roll through wet land then the best thing to do is to check under your deck and remove any exit baffle if there is one that bolts in near the exit blade, also you will need to remove the any exit shoot blocking parts.

Didn't look up your motor but the one on the hustler 52 is about 1500-1600 new. I'd stick with what ya got and just cut when dry. The good about this mower is its a zero turn that goes through 36" gates. Bad is its cheap pos, I don't like the cheap deck and while a single cylinder motor is cheaper having a twin will last way longer especially if u have yards that aren't flat. I had a lawn tractor with a 13-15 Briggs a long time ago and it was very underpowered when mowing berms of almost any degree. It would just not make some of them cause of lack of power, I took mower back within the 30 day period. If I were u I'd get a JD with 18-20 Kohler single cylinder as it won't take a whole summers profit to replace when the time comes and JD is better quality when it comes to most parts of the mower. Prob there is with most zero turns, won't fit through 36"gate. So I'd do the JD and reg push mower for where there's gate issue

Nice motor. On Mine, I run shell 93 octane and with 2 oz of mineral spirits per gal. But don't you do that, that's just what I do and I am not responsible for what you do.
