I am a 67 y.o. newbie. I greatly agree about guitar sizing and feel. My first guitar was 25.5" scale, and it was too long and heavy for me. It also had a bent neck. I returned it after a few weeks. My current guitar is 24.5" scale with a smaller body. It is more comfortable to hold; it just feels better when I hug it to play. I wish I could try every guitar under $1000, to find the "right" one! But I am pretty close to "right" now with my second guitar. Maybe after I retire, I can find the time to practice more.
