Our friends and housemates point at us and go “who the f are you?!” 😂 we love it because it makes it so much less serious and stressful feeling then we just say who it is. When we’re out of the house they just go “sorry who’s this?” If they think they’ve seen a switch, we say the name, then continue like nothing happened. It’s really nice when people understand.

I don’t have DID/OSDD but I have ADHD and am autistic also learning to unmask. It’s so interesting how similar masking is/feels regardless of what is being masked. Lots of love❤

I swear one of our friends is a wizard cause all we’ll do is enter from stage left, masking or not, and they’ll just look up and go “Oh, hey, x” with perfect accuracy.

Like how do you KNOW?

I wanted to let you all know that every time you upload, I update my D.I.D. research book in the first hour of uploading. I have a very troubling system of our own and you seem to help settle us down enough to continue our research, learn more, and understand ourselves even more through your information "giveaway" if you will. You are all amazing and I am so grateful for all of you. Thank you so much!! You are truly a shining light of glory in our dark world of self-issues.

Hi! I don't have DID, but I am a teacher and I feel like your videos are very helpful for me. I've never met a student that, to my knowledge, has DID but I hope that what I learn here can help me to be a safe space for any future students who might need it.

So unrelated to the point but my god your hair looks SO GOOD! Every video I keep thinking "This is peak, nothing can top this, " and then you come back with a new color that looks SOMEHOW EVEN BETTER??? Amazing, flawless, fantastic.

(This is my last comment I swear)

For anyone daunted to unmask in public, we’ve found that if you haven’t told folks you have DID, they don’t assume you do when your voice or body language changes. Luke, our cohost but mostly a caretaker, has a very different voice to everyone else in the system but he doesn’t mask. I’ve been told by someone who we told later about our DID that they thought Luke was me but excited and more energized. Same with alters with deeper voices than me- they just assumed it was me but tired or whatever.

Generally people’s first assumptions aren’t DID. Of course, make sure y’all feel safe and, like DissociaDID said, start slow.

TW: abusive "friends"

We are struggling to unmask, especially as a persecutor recovering. Someone we used to be friends with us, who alleges they are a system as well, used to intentionally negatively trigger out certain alters. Some of them were traumaholders. Anyway, whenever a persecutor would front, they would curse us out. It's that feeling of fear of being mistreated that way. We have to find the right people we can unmask around. Thank you for validating our experiences of not wanting to unmask. -Dove and Medusa

Hi, I love your guys' videos. I don't have DID myself, a friend of mine does. These videos have been very helpful because at the start i was really clueless about the disorder. The hair and make-up looks amazing as always!

This is so helpful. We "launched" ourselves into unmasking around a selection of people around 8 years ago. That led us into very unsafe situations and manipulative "friendships". Since we left those environments/people behind, we have become incredibly protective and very high masking. Now nobody in our personal lives knows us individually (except a few from our past we rarely see). Our therapist has only met three alters by name and we've been seeing her for a year and a half - she's a very safe person for us. Unmasking again seems impossible and dangerous. This video may actually help us start taking small steps. Thank you ❤

My gosh. DID literally effects EVERY aspect of life. Even what you all want to eat for meals! You are all so strong and wonderful in your system, sharing and teaching what you go through. ❤

I started crying when you said 'if a friend knows you well enough, they might notice when you switch' because my best friend knows more often than I do.

I got really lucky that my best friend who is a singlet is so supportive that almost every frequent fronter knows them personally and it's really easy to unmask around him

as an autistic person who struggles w dissociation since a young child, I didnt think this wld be helpful to me but rather interesting to learn. however, i find this quite helpful to handle the communication of my own dissociated states to myself & family. a lot of it(for me ig) just reminding myself that i'm safe & that the perception of others(while important to how i exist as a personality in any given space) is not detrimental to said safety. thanks for the video!

Our system (besides me the host- I tend to go “Oh, I’m dissociating. I think it’s ’x?’) tends to not announce themselves, either cause it feels Wrong™️ or, as a few have expressed, they don’t like being treated differently than me- for them, they’ve been friends with a person as long as I have, but the person feels like they’re meeting someone new, so they default to the polite small talk phase, and everyone in our system hates that phase so they’re like 😩
