Mind-bogglingly long Journey of the Sorcerer

"Since every piece of matter in the Universe is in some way affected by every other piece of matter in the Universe, it is in theory possible to extrapolate the whole of creation — every sun, every planet, their orbits, their composition and their economic and social history from, say, one small piece of fairy cake.
The man who invented the Total Perspective Vortex did so basically in order to annoy his wife.
Trin Tragula — for that was his name — was a dreamer, a thinker, a speculative philosopher or, as his wife would have it, an idiot.
And she would nag him incessantly about the utterly inordinate amount of time he spent staring out into space, or mulling over the mechanics of safety pins, or doing spectrographic analyses of pieces of fairy cake.
“Have some sense of proportion!” she would say, sometimes as often as thirty-eight times in a single day.
And so he built the Total Perspective Vortex — just to show her.
And into one end he plugged the whole of reality as extrapolated from a piece of fairy cake, and into the other end he plugged his wife: so that when he turned it on she saw in one instant the whole infinity of creation and herself in relation to it.
To Trin Tragula’s horror, the shock completely annihilated her brain; but to his satisfaction he realized that he had proved conclusively that if life is going to exist in a Universe of this size, then the one thing it cannot afford to have is a sense of proportion."

Douglas Adams, The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe

This piece is big. Very, very big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think “inagada da vida” is long, but that’s just peanuts to this piece.

"Ford?"
"Yes, Arthur?"
"What's that noise?"
"Well, if we're lucky, it's just the Vogon Captain coming to throw us off his ship."
"And if we're unlucky?"
"If we're unlucky, then he might keep his promise to play us his six-hour mix of Journey Of The Sorcerer first..."

Arthur: "Robot? There's just a teensy-weensy something in the corner of your eye. Here . . look, let me get that for you."
Marvin: "Just for a second, I saw it there, written across the sky".
Arthur: "What? What did you see?"
Marvin: " . . For Douglas."

Next time you should try to make it exactly 42 minutes long. 💕 But I'm a nerd like that #hitchhikersguidetothegalaxy I'm subscribing and in love ❤️

Not just Mind-bogglingly long, but exquisitely done! Most super-extended versions sound so stretched out of shape they sound like someone eating electronic crackers. Not This! Keep it up! Subscribed

lol I was playing Stellaris, and decided to turn off the music in the game, and listen to the Eagles' journey of the sorceror, and while I was playing, Youtube cued up this after the original. And I thought I had turned the game music back on somehow. That's how good this version is.

I didn’t know I needed this until I heard it, outstanding. I may even get the hang of Thursdays playing this in the background.

I've wanted this for so many years! Well, and to see and hear Bernie Leadon do it live, of course! Thank you so much for this! By this act alone, I believe that you've earned enough "karmic points" to enter the of your choice!

Actually, at 2X it sounds like an ethereal ghost playing it.

The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy mentions mind boggling. Indeed it refers to it as in fact mind boggling as to how come the subject by its very nature is very much a boggling of the mind. The good news is that the mind in question doesn't mind at all. In a statement the mind in question later agreed that marmalade was not involved and in a very real sense if you wanted to join a society who believed in buying a specific biscuit bar to qualify for entry to their club then thats their choice. In conclusion the owner of the mind declined to let the mind choose to be boggled or not as its a free universe except on Thursdays and for viewers in Scotland. Upon reading this guide entry the guidebook staff suggested to place the article in its entirety in an upwards direction with a dexterity to the reference of a horizontaly achieved position so to avoid the tonsils from the inside 😁
