Just want to add one thing to the sending resumes out… make sure to adjust your cover letter and resume to each job you apply for and make sure it is ATS friendly

Good to see you had fun in Kambalda, not everyone does
Not sure about the advice for overseas workers though, seen a lot of backpackers marched off site because they employers aren't supposed to use them, the government here classes all the mining crew jobs as unskilled labour, so they have to use citizens or permanent residents
Have been seeing some of the Utilities and Exploration contractors trying to fill gaps with people (backpackers) for a couple of months, just be aware once the mine owner finds out, they will put you off site (normally with the person that hired you), it just cost them to much money if they get caught doing it
Hope you have fun on your travels

Thanks for the vid! I'm in the midwest USA and I've been a union carpenter for four years. Thinking about it for a year or two, think that trade would be valuable?

Hi there! Did you acquire your qualifications and certificates in Australia upon arrival, or in your home country? Additionally, were you required to undergo any validation process?
