Bluesky is facing significant challenges in maintaining user interest and sustainability due to issues with toxicity, chaotic functionality, and competition from other social media platforms, raising concerns about its future.

00:00 Bluesky faces challenges in competing with X and may struggle to maintain user interest despite a shift towards a more positive, art-focused community.

03:55 Bluesky's rapid user growth is overshadowed by fears of it succumbing to toxicity like other social media platforms.

06:32 Bluesky struggles with chaotic functionality and sustainability amid shifting user attention and controversial leadership, echoing past social media challenges.

10:37 Bluesky's initial promise of connection is fading due to drama and negativity, mirroring the disillusionment seen in other platforms.

13:08 Bluesky faces challenges with far-left content and violence, raising concerns about its future amid a desire for open discourse.

15:54 Social media is temporary, with platforms like Bluesky facing inevitable decline amid the rise of better alternatives and the loss of meaningful online interactions.

19:28 Bluesky struggles to gain mainstream users amid corporate control of the internet and increasing content restrictions.

22:02 Bluesky is struggling with user backlash over harassment issues and moderation challenges, raising concerns about its future amid competition from recovering platforms like X.

Blue Sky's moderation team is accused of censorship for attempting to ban writer Jesse Singal over alleged anti-trans views after just 12 days on the platform, mirroring Twitter's controversial practices.

Twitter's user base allegedly plummeted from over 1 billion to 586 million after banning @realDonaldTrump, a sitting president, leading to a mass exodus to platforms like Blue Sky and Threads.

The idea of a decentralized Internet is deemed nearly impossible due to Google's overwhelming control over search, email, and hosting services, effectively centralizing power in corporate hands.

Twitter's decline is attributed to Elon Musk's ownership, which allegedly allowed far-left activists from Tumblr and LiveJournal to employ K-pop stan tactics like puppet accounts and trending manipulation.

During the pandemic, Twitter's censorship reached extreme levels, with random accounts warning users not to question vaccine effectiveness, creating a dystopian environment of self-censorship.

*It’s almost as if Toxic People ruin the experience for everyone in anything.*
*Who could have predicted?* 😑

Those people went to bluesky, not because they were being censored, but because YOU weren't. Let that sink in.

A lot of people left YouTube to go to Rumble because they didn't like the censorship. Now a lot of people are going from X to BlueSky because they miss the censorship.

Imagine that these people went to Bluesky just because their political enemies were not being sufficiently silenced.

No, let's let them think that it's totally working. They are crushing it and Bluesky is amazing. They have to go somewhere. It might as well be there.

It will be hilarious if their attempts to wall themselves off from reality and remain relevant goes up like the Titanic

The NYT's absolute passive-aggressive crying that they no longer control social media platforms like Twitter/X is hilarious to read.

The thing that none of the Bluesky people seem to acknowledge is that X is a GLOBAL company. New users are coming onboard all over the world as the internet becomes more available to countries. Within 7-10 years there will probably be more people using X from India or Indonesia than in the US. And with the AI translation getting so useful it's great. I follow a bunch of people who never write in English but it's easy to translate and read anyone.

The only time I've been called a racial slur was when I just listed the things Obama actually did to a leftist on Twitter.

Bluesky is nothing BUT politics - just one-sided politics. I have never seen so many people wallowing in so much hatred.

The worse part is- all those crazies over there will come right back to X/Twitter, messing it up for all of us all over again.

On my google/chrome feed it was constant "Millions are ditching X for Bluesky!" I was like, yeah I'm sure they are..

Musk just let people do whatever, less control, and that was all the extremists needed to cry about being opressed.

Meh at this point honestly, if it does last its less idiots on Twitter/X, and if it doesn't it just proves the toxicity point.

"X is unraveling". Transation: "I can not compete in the arena of ideas when everyone fact checks me."

The big problem they never think about is as users increase, costs increase.
The need more moderation, they need more servers, they need more everything and the costs start skyrocketing. There is just no way you can have both an echo chamber AND a viable user base that can make money from. And, as Kneon often mentions, the venture capital days are gone. They can't operate for years at a loss.

Considering Bluesky is a haven for CP, it really should shut down ASAP.
