Hello! What did you think about this short Test video of Zoom H1n? If you live in Sweden you can buy it at Kjell & Company. I Picked it up recently for Unboxing videos but of course it can be used for many other things aswell.

You can't have a fair representation of audio recording if your recorder is placed on the same surface as your glass in which you pour water into. The table is too resonant. Having zoom on something soft or not connected with the table at all would be much better

Thanks for the nice recording examples, though some were an undesirable mix of sound through the air and the vibration of the table. Still it actually shows it's not as affected by vibration through a table as many other recorders are, so still a valuable piece of information about it.

I wouldn't call the detail extreme, except perhaps extreme for the price and just "rather good" in absolute terms. Compared to something like the Sony PCM D100, it sounds rather muffled as the stereo field is less defined and the higher frequencies are attenuated and less crisp, but that can actually be a good thing for many uses too.

I have a D100 and while it can sound amazing, it's actually very hard to get a useful recording with it since it picks up too much background noise, and it's also super-sensitive to handling noise. I've been thinking of selling it and getting something like the H1n since it is both smaller, lighter, more likely to be in my pocket when I need it, and will be easier to use whenever I need to keep the main sound source I am trying to record separate from background noise.

Great video indeed ! you should try an experiment ... pick a little tripod and mount the H1n on it Then put it on the roadbed of a train and record the sound of a train approaching ... with HPs and eyes shut it should be like being run over by the train Or a car of course ...

they should a new one to where you could go wireless without having to sync the audio or having to a have a wire connected to camera but still a great mic in general

I plan on getting this for plane spotting. How well does it perform at loud places like an airport? Also if you can test it at a airport that would be amazing. But if not all good. Loved the video, it seems like an amazing recorder.

Is the sound is post edit? because i also using zoom H1n and there is always like a soft noise humming in the background. I have to edit that sound in adobe premiere using denoise to erase that soft humming noise.

Can you make eating sound with this Microphone a little further from your mouth? And may know what setting is that on your mic because I can't see it clearly. I have this Microphone but didn't work well for my video.

This video made me regret buying the Zoom H2.
The Zoom H1N has an even better audio quality, and a longer battery life.
I can barely record 3 hours with the Zoom H2 using Nimh rechargable batteries.
