There is definitely always a danger when there is so much traffic. I usually do not drive much faster than 200 in this circumstance because this sort of thing has happened to me a few times. You have very good brakes in that heavy E class.

We have so many factors that can lead to this save:
The tires
The brakes (disc and calipers)
Weight of the car (good weight distribution)
And most importantly is the reaction of the driver is spot on just amazing

Well it is not just the braks(that of course are really good) it is the tires too, good tires decrease the break distance and it is good for curves too

I have never been in the autobahn but sometimes I think that's the biggest risk: you are in the center lane and you want to overtake using the left one, you check your mirror but if someone comes too fast you don't see them and by the time you take the left lane the other is already into you

Bei so nem Verkehr muss man sich das auch erst mal trauen, so auf den Pinsel zu drücken. So ein Vertrauen genießen andere Verkehrsteilnehmer nicht bei mir. Vollgas nur bei wenig bis gar kein Verkehr.

I drove at 240km/h in a high powered Beamer late at night a few years back in 2010 I think it was, but the G forces became so freaky, I started sweating and almost stopped breathing and slowly worked my way back to the speed limit. Not 30 seconds later, a giant kangaroo came straight out of nowhere from the side of the highway and I swerved and just brushed it with the driver's side bumper and side mirror. Someone was watching over me that night. That night will remain with me for the rest of my days.
