It’s so hard loving myself when the first thing people notice about me is my lazy eye

I’ve always been bullied for this main reason.

I'm sitting on my bathroom floor right now, crying because I've had my lazy eye for 18 years now and it haunts me everyday. I never feel confident. I never let people take photos of me. It really sucks because, I am a cosplayer and my whole hobby and life is very cosmetic and the fact that I cannot ever experience this happiness and this bliss because I'm too poor, , just really hurts.

THIS SURGERY IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH I walked around for a long time very self conscious of my eye shifting. I avoided eye contact and pictures because I was always worried my eyes would not be straight. Dr. McDonell corrected this problem and I could not be happier. It was covered by my insurance and the recovery was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. If you have this condition I highly recommend getting it corrected.

Everyone who is cross eyed like me,
Don’t let anyone make you feel bad stand up for yourself
And take it as a blessing

I'm 18 and have strabismus. Honestly it affects me everyday because I frequently get double vision. My eye doctor keeps bumping my prescription up which sharpens my vision but makes me see double more often. I hate it when people ask me where I'm looking and to look them in the eye because shit I thought I was. But finally after many years of being made fun of I have been referred to a surgical consult. Maybe this will be the answer to my prayers?!? Fingers crossed 🤞

I hope I can get my eye fixed. People think I’m so mean because I want to be alone and not talk in a group. Once someone ask me who are you looking at I’ll start to cry.

I've struggled with this to since I was 5 and it bother me when people say who are you looking at. I can't help it, it makes me so insecure so I try to be funny to distract from my insecurity.
Sorry for the rant

I wish i could afford to have my eyes fix. I can't even make an eye contact so people think I'm rude but I'm just really shy and I've got 0 confidence because of it 😔

That is Dr. Jim McDonnell; best 'eye' doctor in the world. He fixed my son's eyes. It took patience and 3 surgeries, but they are perfect and, to me, it's a miracle! Love you Dr. Jim!

It's very hard having wandering eye and it's much harder knowing I can't afford treatment. It's sad.

I'm so glad to know that there are people that understand how I feel. I hate taking pictures.

I've had a lazy eye for 28 years. I tried getting an opinion from an eye doctor regarding whether or not I would be a candidate for the surgery, and he stated no since I've had two previous surgeries. 😥 A surgery like this would change my life!

I was born with Exotropia. It ruins my confidence around everyone. I hate when people talk about it. Some people treat me differenty because my eyes are weird. Its usually my right eye, but sometimes when I look to the left, it becomes my left eye. I've had 3 surgeries, and tons of eye drops and treatments. But that was when I was around 3-7. I'm 13 now. I have no confidence In myself. I am so self conscious around my friends. If you know good therapy. please let know
