Heyy so I know why the painting cds thing didn’t work. So you’re supposed to get an x-acto knife and cut the first layer of the cd, but careful because if you cut it too deep you can scratch the cd and it would leave a scratch when your painting. It only has to be like a line across the cd for it to be enough to work. Then, get the tape and peel off the layer. Also, if the paint doesn’t stick you need to prepare the surface by using sandpaper and scratching the area. Hope this helps!

so, for the stamp, youre WAY better off buying a printmaking tool kit, it comes with all the carving tools you need to get all the small details and all the larger areas, and you can actually pick it up pretty easy! its actually really fun if you have the right tools and can get used to the mechanics of it! i recommend trying again someday

for the CDs, what I did was first soak the cd in water for about 10 minutes. then, use your fingernails to tear apart the two layers and the one layer with skin will be able to have you to the tape thing. :D

A bit of an explanation of what was going on with the stamp: They may be using the more squishier linoleum and not an Eraser. It would be firmer, and also it's a form of Relief Printmaking which is *great* for beginners, but only if explained how everything works.

Other ways that may help you in the future if you try it again: You have to think of the inverse. Instead of the lines being black, you make the larger areas being black you *can* work in layers, but you have to have several blocks (the name of the stamps in printmaking) or do the "reductive method" where you use one block but you are carving it away after you did the previous print, those you get very limited prints however. Also Don't use the exacto blade, it'll not only cut too deep, but it gets super dangerous and you can slice your hand open. Instead use an linoleum carving tool. Speedball makes an excellent thing which you can change out nibs and won't be expensive. Speedball also has a great squishy linoleum to start out on as well. Though if you want to go cheap, normal flat linoleum works as well but it's super hard and would make it difficult to learn how to carve into it. Also carve away from you and away from your hands, never towards it. Less cutting your fingers that way.

When I heard the words: "They never explained how they were doing it" I nearly panicked because it could cause harm if they don't give any form of warning of what they were doing. These were the things we were taught in Relief Printmaking in collage, so it wasn't something to take lightly. (which brought me into my Printmaking Major but the point is, Relief is great for beginners starting out, just wished those TicTokers at least explained what they were doing.)

We used to do stamp prints in school and the tool used for carving is actually a bit curvy, so it let's you "scoop" up the extra bits. Exacto knife looks much harder to use, since you have to somehow go under the piece you are trying to lift

for the stamps, i recommend buying a stamp block kit off amazon and starting off using a more simple design. maybe you could have a whole video trying it out :) love ur videos <3

Quick tip for the clear CD! You’re supposed to scratch a tiny cut with scissors and THEN peel with the tape over the scratch! It should work then! Also love your videos!

You can actually pour some transparent but shimmery raisin on the painted CD to give it a finished look 😘👍🏻

The "clear CD" is actually a plastic separator between used/damaged CDs and empty ones that haven't bee used yet.

For the CD’s your supposed to take an X-Acto knife and put a small cut then try the tape, that’s how I do mine

For the cds, make a small cut, from on side to the other, with a x-acto knife on the white part and than use the tape


For the stamp you should use thicker lines and use a carving tool with diferent sizes and shapes attachemnts
