One of my favorite things about Toyotaru is, as you pointed out in the short, him being able to recognize his shortcomings and improve. It’s honestly inspiring how humble and willing to learn he is.

Toriyama was right when he said Toyotaro is too safe when it comes to the manga.
which is weird because his volume covers and some illustrations he makes are so impressive and risky for a dragon ball style because we rarely see them.

he honestly needs to bring some that insane posing into his manga.

until he learns to take risks with the manga itself he will never surpass toriyama

Even in the original example, Toyotaro’s art has Goku’s wrist looking a little weird. Toriyama is just so in tune with his characters

gotta give credit to Toyotaro. He knew damn well he didn't even come close to Toriyama's level (and perhaps never will) but he knew someone had to do it and he was willing to try and be worthy

Toriyama was a genius of the media. The way he does panelling, the exactness of his art, and the movement he shows is unmatched

While Toyotarou is not a bad artist Toroyama's art is still way easier on the eyes.I'd choose Toriyama's art over his in a heartbeat.

Toyataro made Zamasu look like a good guy while Toriyama makes him look like a villain.

Toyotarou is a good artist, won't deny. But Toriyama has such a distinct and refined style that you stop glancing at the art and just have to take it in. Especially when you compare them. It looks like a timeskip of the character from when he was a fledgeling with silly powers to becoming badass master XD
