My dude!! This couldn’t have come at a better time! I started subbing to you a couple of years ago when I was living in Colorado and began learning how to snowboard (I’m originally from FL and learned to snowboard at age 48 lol). You gave some dope beginner tips that I used to accelerate my learning process. Super stoked by that.

Now at 50 I moved back to FL (job change, life, pandemic, etc 😂) and I’m looking to pick back up surfing. I surfed off and on thru the years but have taken many, many years off so it’s like I’m a beginner again basically. So I’m super stoked to get back out in the waves. Kelly Slater is my guy being that he’s out there putting in work for us old dudes (I’m certainly no Slater but one needs an idol). Thanks for this video. Other beginner tips could be help as well like paddling efficiency, pop ups, reading sets, setup, overall safety, etc. Keep slaying my man! For the dream!! 🤙🏾 Mahalo my dude. 🙏🏾

Turtle & SLICED RAIL DUCKDIVE ( look it up) are the go to’s for longboards. I duck dive my 9’ log all the time. This morning on some bombs too. And obviously duck dive for short boards.

Have u heard of, moving to the side of board and pulling the nose of board toward stomach to avoid board flying while wave breaks?

I tried that trick but then the wave hit my head and flipped my board and me over

Is there a proper way of doing this trick?

What if i wanna bring a 7’6 foam board out?

Is turtle roll, push up technique, and the racket launching technique are my best choice ? Cuz can’t can’t do duck dive

Im surfing in Bali and waves are very powerful, even the small ones. The only thing that seems to work for me is dirching the board and swimming under the waves but then I almost get my ankle ripped off by the leash. I thought surfing was meant to be fun! What should I do if Im caught under a 6ft wave which is about to break on my head?

Great video my dude. Maybe a video on popping up would be useful for a lot of folks? Also, I think you need to get another fish.

Hey man, I went surfing for the second time ever earlier today. It was extremely choppy and I wasnt even able to get out to the breaks. I was getting pushed backwards over and over, but next time I go out I'll remember what you said in this video. What really freaked me out today though was a sideways current that would carry me 200+ yards down the shore from where I put in. I noticed the waves were also coming in at an angle. I was able to ride some whitewater but I never got on a proper wave. Is a strong sideways current a common thing surfers deal with? These waves seemed like they were maybe 5ft or so high. Biggest I've ever been around at least for my area.

You inspired me this morning to make a healthy breakfast and "neck it." Love the content, keep it up!

Yo casey i have about just as much facial hair as you and i never shave unless it starts to get food and bugs stuck in it but I recommend just dry shaving its more then decent and it saves some coin instead of buying shaving cream
