You are exactly right and you haven’t seen the live performances yet 😂 Soul train. Big circle Afros, large sunglasses, big bell bottom pants, bright yellow green purple shirts. 100% accurate commentary 1975 big groove and it still bops today

I am pretty sure the falsetto in the background is her husband, George McCrae. He uses the same falsetto wail in his song "Rock Your Baby".

Growing up in "White America" limited my exposure to most soul music but, I think I remember this one making it through the censors.
Brings back memories to hear it again.

Gwen McCrae's husband, George McCrae had a big solo No. 1 hit himself in 1974 with "Rock Your Baby." ... And another killer No. 1 song from 1974 with "Rock" in the title is "Rock the Boat" by the Hues Corporation.
