At 7:25, you said, " I suck ", so ...don't blame the MPC. Tell the Truth. Smh.

There is nothing better than buying a synth from someone who didn't enjoy it. Usually has that open box feel but sometimes it's cursed haha

It takes time to learn them. I got the Live 2 a while back and got really comfortable with the version 2 of the firmware. If you come from the DAW/ITB workflow, its definitely a step back. It shines when you use it on its own. If you're using it alongside a laptop, its redundant. I've done the whole sell them and buy them again. Realize working with samplers will always be a more cumbersome workflow because we've been spoiled with DAWs for over a decade.

I share all the same feelings. MPC 3.4 is just a torture. UI is from 2000-s. It is all bugged, I just feel frustration, no inspiration. Some stuff is just annoying and ultimately stupid. I want to buy a Machine+.

Have to admit I’m kinda gassing for the red plus. I just got a good condition MPC 2500 because I love the old workflow of the Mpcs. Very inspiring and simple. You just pick a kit or a sample record switch tracks and repeat. Now it’s menu menu menu subscriptions and a weird sampling window. Very daw like.
I’m with you bro.
And the new units don’t have the dynamic range of the old units. They sound flat.

I've been messing with the MPC 2 software for a while and I managed to create over 50 beats. Anyway I tried the MPC 3 software and I don't like it. It's like a computer DAW but it's difficult for me because the screen is too small, so I'd rather just stick with my logic 10, if they put a mouse pointer abilities on the MPC then I would consider trying it again, but I don't like MPC 3 software, maybe it's just me, maybe i'm too lazy to learn something new or maybe I'm just too old to learn something new, anyway I'm sure you'll find something out there that is easier to get into. I prefer MPC 2 over 3 software, which is kind of weird. I guess the 3 is just too complicated, too many things going on such a small screen. I'm not giving up yet. I'm gonna try MPC 3 operating system because it does have a lot of new features that once you learn them, it will definitely improved or make it easier to do music on the MPC.

I feel the same way. Even with the 3.0 it is very frustrating to use.

OK, so when you use all your synths, you are not playing in linear time? You can just hold down one note Maybe you need a looper or something?

I had one of these at one point, but sold it just like you did. Mainly because I realized I bought it out of technical curiosity rather than need. I don’t think it’s a bad device though. I did make one track with it, not one of my better ones though lol

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa be careful dude… I’ve had a love affair with my Akai MPC since 1999.. i’m an absolute fanatic. I love these machines. They’re so powerful once you learn how to use them and that machine has single-handedly changed my life. So if you don’t know about it? if you don’t know how to use it? I could see how it could be frustrating. It eliminates the computer altogether when it comes to just freestyle riding I use the MPC live two and my acoustic guitar all the time together.- just for creating

You mentioned the tascam model 24. That is my latest addition to the spaceship less than 1 mo old. Got it right after my nightverb. Before I was always unplugging gear, messing with I/O assignment, by the time I am ready to record I have wasted 20-30min getting the gear I wanted to play setup. Dawless w/ the Model 24 is a dream. I have enough free inputs to not only run everything in stereo, but I can buy 4 more synths before I run out of I/O. Now, any instrument I touch makes sound I can record to a single track or multi-track on SD (or use it as an interface if I want). It immediately sped up my workflow and now I can work on ideas immediately w/ no setup.

It's a red beauty for sure and a one to lure you in! For a live performance/jamming purpose it looks like an overly complicated piece of gear that only looks good on a stage to impress your friends and audience.
For me, I would rather have a small sequencer with limited features and a simple lcd. A one that would help me lay down tracks quickly and jam at the same time. Why would I want this piece of gear for serious production? Having a propped DAW instead for a serious work would be a better choice.

I got mine laying on the shelf, haven't tried the new firmware/OS yet but I expect that I will enjoy it.
I am a programmer :D
My problem is lack of time though.
I also don't appreciate in-app purchases and requiring internet on a groovebox.
It only had a LAN port, I won't ever connect that.
I'll see when I got time

I sold my Prophet 5 Module and picked up the Allen Heath CQ18t digital mixer and recorder. Take a look at that one. My studio is much more functional now. Also grabbed the Multi Poly. Super Fantastic synth! 🎹🏆Loving life. 🥳

Thank you for being truthful on this thing. I'm also getting buyer's remorse with my original MPC One. I was thinking I got it because of working a DAWless flow in music creation & portability (if you buy a lithium ion battery pack and power adapter cable). But seems like I always revert to going back to my DAW because the workflow is much faster, even with a mouse, keyboard, MIDI/ audio interface and hardware synths. I'll just keep mines for a change of 'scenery' when I wanna create some simple jams.
