Irish Soda Bread - An Easier and More Modern Approach

Calling all bread lovers! Got soda bread cravings? Let's whip up a batch of my family's Irish Soda Bread the easy way.

=== 🍽🍸🥩 RECIPE ===
2 cups (270g) all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
3 ounces (75g) cold butter, cut into pieces
1/4 cup (30g) each currants and raisins
1 tablespoon caraway seeds
6 ounces (177ml) buttermilk

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C)

In a food processor, add the flour, baking soda, salt and sugar. Pulse 3-4 times to combine. Then add the butter and pulse another 2-3 times or until the mixture is the size of small peas. Add the currants, raisins and caraway seeds. Pulse once or twice to combine. Add the buttermilk and pulse until the mixture is moistened. Turn out onto a cutting board and pull together into a dough ball.

Place in a buttered round 8 inch (20cm) cake pan or pie dish.

Bake for 40 - 45 minutes.

Looks so easy and delicious that crunch makes me want to eat that soda bread NOW OMG. I just came from the garden I was checking my veggies and I have red currants red raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries. I love the stories about your mom and you and the family recipes it makes me smile Chef. I just lost my mom a few months ago we always were in the kitchen cooking. Have a good day.

I love family recipes! I have the same, handwritten, by my grandmother and my Moms typed up cook book!
I really like how you always give a thorough explanation and history of various foods. I didn’t know currants were a type of grape.
