I feel like Air can do damage if you roll into someone, but it just must have a perk that makes it worth picking up. Fire seems like a semi-close range melee based item, that I geuss would allow you to take no fire damage. Earth is a defense-offense hybrid (with an unknown range since it only showcased the wall in the video), that the only thing I can geuss is take slightly less fall damage or a small damage resistance (example, something that does 26 damage does about 24 instead). Water is a ranged-utility hybrid, already being released alongside Korra, and has been buffed recently to have more hitscan range according to a video I saw, and its passive ability is to heal 5 health per second while touching water (and outside storm obviously).
