Lettberg is a fantastic musician, learning all of Scriabin's Piano repertoire is certainly an insanely difficult task, reserved for only the masters.

One of my favourite piano pieces. Scriabin had the ability to create wonderful musical landscapes.

The start is an incredible mix of both anger and despair, which creates a feeling of intense anguish. It's so clearly composed that its like he's putting emotions into music. It sounds ridiculous, but you find yourself actually feeling sorry for the voice that speaks, because you can hear its sadness and pain.

She's so very good. Her complete Scriabin solos are a fantastic feat. AND beautifully recorded I might add.

So much swagger at the end of the 2nd movement.

The most underrated composer in history.

Scriabin was a complete genius. If he took an IQ test he couldn't not get a genius level result. The consistent quality of his composition is at a level never seen before, he was a undoubtedly a perfectionist as well. He never wrote a piece of music that he himself did not like and admire.

If you listen to the main theme of the 4 th movement
This forms a lot of material in the 4th sonata

No, it is not Ashkenazy. Yes, it is still great.

Scriabin is highly prized as 「a man unrivaled」

Its 4th movement is very similar to that of Bortkiewicz's sonata in c#moll

Fantastic and superb! Very delicate, but with all the madness that Scriabin's music intends. Have you played his Fantasia op. 28?

This is from another planet! (Uranus or so).

0:20 Why does she play a d# instead of a d natural? It isn't written with a #
Edit: Even Scriabin himself didn't play it like that.

Such an incredible sonata. Some playing I like particularly 2nd and 3rd movements (slight mishap at 12:34). 1st movement lacks the "drammatico" element for me (plus D# instead of Ds in bar 7). 4th movement is over-pedalled too much - sounds muddy in places (with the LH arpeggios).

Bars 2 and 4 of the Andante (mvt III) should have 16th-note LH octaves, not 32nd-note ones.
