TIP: you’ll only get followers on instagram if you have a YouTube channel that gets views. Then it doesn’t matter what you do in instagram, people will follow you just cause they are subscribed to your channel…

Honestly, having followers is a bit of an anachronism (old fashioned) in the tech world. In the real world it means very little of what it used to across all of the platforms. Least of all is Instagram. IG keeps changing because it's old hat. It's not like Instagram pays you, it doesn't no matter how many "followers" you have. There is no real purpose to having a big footprint on any social media platform (outside of youtube).with the possible exception of brand-deals, but even big brands are now going a different direction than the old-fashioned influencer, because there's little to no return on investment. This is one of the big reasons WHY IG is constantly struggling to stay relevant and keep young people on the platform. Oh and by the way, very few people want to watch "reels", they want pictures. So reach is down because IG or "Meta" is in denial over that reality.

Here’s one for you that’s driving me crazy-every time I’m about to cross a 1k follower threshold, my following drops by 10-15 every time it gets close to the line. As an example, I’ve been approaching 129k on the nose for the past 72 hours. I’ll get to 128, 998-and then it drops down to 128, 960 and the climb starts over. It doesn’t drop like this ANY other time and I’m consistently clocking around 200 new followers a day. I’m even watching people following me WHILE this drop is occurring. I’ve noticed this ever since they announced the changes you’re talking about in this video. It doesn’t seem like IG is purging any flagged followers, but it’s not a glitch either. It ONLY happens at this 1k follower rollover.

I've had an IG account for 3 years and religiously do everything suggested by the pros and I only have 1900 followers. I have professional looking high quality content but it just isn't being seen. Part of the problem, I suspect, is the my content seems to appeal to witches, satanists, LGBTQ++, cosplay, furries, oddity collectors, etc. My content has zero to do with any of that and focuses entirely on MidCentury Companion Dolls living an idyllic life in 1959. I never approach any hot topic themes. Just happy dolls having tea parties, visits to the park, playing dressup, etc.

Ok but who are my followers? Satanists & Witches. It just doesn't make sense.

I used to get around 100 to 150 views per story and in the last week or two it drastically went down to like 20 views, posts are doing terrible as well they always did but at least stories weren't so bad. now it's all bad. why is that?
