Nobody who was a schoolkid or parent in the 1950's can forget the horror that was polio--the leg-braces, the "iron lungs." The vaccine was truly a miraculous gift to humanity.

Given that we seniors vote the way we do and we all remember the horrors of polio among our own schoolmates, it seems ludicrous this is being suggested. However, with Trump's election we now know not to underestimate the idiocy of America.

I'm a polio expert. Caught it in '55, age 17mo. Left my left leg 4 inches short and atrophied. Since then I've strapped a long legbrace that is very uncomfortable, and often damages my genitals . I now have post polio syndrome, and is no joke for a 71yo to experience. I got off lightly compared to others. Polio is a horrible disease, and anyone that thinks otherwise must be kept out of political office with no exceptions!

RFK Jr is 70 years old the same age as me and I can bet that he did have all vaccines that were given in to 50s and 60s just like me and every child in America including polio. Today RFK Jr is telling everyone that they are not necessary. Hypocrite is not the only word I would use to describe him.

I'm in my 70s. I endured mumps and measles as a toddler. I was sick for weeks. I knew people who survived polio but with consequences. These diseases haven't disappeared, theyve been prevented.

When I was a young child, my mom refused to put me in swimming lessons at the local country club for fear that I might contract the disease. In school, my class was the first to receive the oral polio vaccine, and none of my classmates contracted the disease. However, there were upper classes with girls who had a limp or wore a leg brace/s, some of whom happened to be sisters of my classmates. Later on, my own children received the polio vaccine as infants. It makes me shudder to imagine what life would have been like without the polio vaccine.

These imbecilic picks ate absolutely insane and nothing but a freak show. I was born in 61 and some of my teachers were crippled and in leg braces and horribly deformed from the waist down. It was very sad to see what they had to go through to get around. It's shameful.
