Hey so I realized the reason my viewfinder looked poopy is because my jpeg settings had reduced clarity and sharpness, which made the viewfinder look sort of out of focus. My diopter setting was fine, it was just the jpeg custom settings that threw me off. K THANKS BYE

Also, you can create your own profiles in NX studio and export them to the camera.

If you are feeling viewfinder preview is soft, try adjusting the diopter.

Nikon Picture Control and NikonPC site will open a world of film sims.

You can definitely adjust tone curves with the Nikon Picture Control Utility. Don’t think you can add grain though.

As a digital and film photographer myself, plus a diehard Fuji fanboy. I say if you have a chance, give Sony A7C2 a try. With the new picture profiles you will be surprised how nice the SOOC images look. I was debating on getting either the ZF or A7C2, and 100% satisfy with my final decision with Sony

Nike picture control editor lets you do the custom profiles and load them into the camera via the sd card

I came from Fuji after 10 or so years. The sooc camera colors in JPEG to my phone are gorgeous. Sure I miss shooting in classic chrome but the Nikon zf opened up a whole world of focus and full frame that Fuji left me desiring. I actually enjoy the b&w more from the Nikon than Fuji’s acros. I never seemed to ever get a photo in acros that made me love it. The Nikon has me drooling over almost every photo tbh. But it could be the lens giving me such feelings. I paired my zf with the 50 1.8s and it’s giving me canon L vibes when I used to shoot with my 5D and L glass. The Fuji 56 was my favorite lens, but useless at 1.2 for paid work 🤦🏽‍♂️. I always wondered if I had a bad copy

If they offered cool jpegs would your really use them or would you still shoot RAW and edit yourself. I hear plenty of people saying they want these cool joegs but then they mostly are proponents of shooting RAW.

The viewfinder is fine but when using b&w preview the sharpness is awful and makes it look mushy. Switch to standard and it is sharp again. It’s pretty annoying.

This is quite interesting! As a fellow Photographer I have always gone for either the full on camera with RAW files + editing to get photos I care about and my phone for just documenting life, but smartphones are NEVER as good as a camera.

But the idea of having a small, light camera to carry arround and take JPEGs just great photos directly out of your camera is AMAZING by doing this video you have given me a new way of living life without editing as much. (Which I really do not enjoy, I enjoy taking photos and the results after the editing but the editing part itself I really don't like.)
