Here in Brazil, Nigel Mansel is called Lion, because he always demonstrates lots of courage. Mansel and Senna, the best of them.

I remember watching this, and Nigel tried everything to pass Ayton, he was all over him trying to make Senna make a mistake, Imo two of the sports best drivers, Nigel had the best car but Ayton had the skill, Monaco was Ayton's track

Mansell was truly a great driver. Winning the 1992 F1 championship, then in 1993 winning the CART championship. Amazing

I really love these reviews of some memorable races. But it would also be nice if you could post entire races. The most memorable at least. Consider that in the future.

Eternal pride of Brazil, Senna, will never be forgotten by everyone who loves formula one! Hugs in all, from this Brazilian who loves formula one!

From what I remember as Senna went through Saint devot after the chequered flag his engine blew - Senna had to drive his car to the limit and Mansell had to expend himself almost entirely to get close to the win. Two titans of the sport, so glad I got to watch their duels early in my life. Senna the King, Mansell the Lionheart!

One race in Monaco to rule them all: 1984: in the pouring rain, everybody was driving very carefully but in the midst of all those drivers was a new rookie, called Ayrton Senna, driving for Toleman Hart; a  low raked team (compare it as the Marussia of that era). He was not driving carefully, instead he was driving faster and faster, lapping driver after driver and ended up chasing the great Alain Prost, the by then race leader but the race was later stopped by the course director (Jacki ickx) because it was to unsafe to continue and so the drivers where awarded half points. A great feat of Ayrton driving skills but he felt that he was robbed of a great finish if he was allowed to continue racing.

In my view one of the most underrated drives by Senna. Not because of his wheel-to-wheel fight with Mansell, but how he achieved to get in that position. After an awesome first lap which not only saw him overtake Patrese but also put Mansell under pressure as well, he slipped back quite a lot - to not destroy his tyres prematurely. During the mid-phase of the race he showed extraordinary speed and kept the gap at ~20 sec.. Even a ten second delay due to Alboreto spinning couldn't prevent him from taking top spot during Mansells unscheduled pitstop.

My brother was cheering for Mansell and and I for Senna. Dont know if we every were so passionate in taking in every second of that race. Williams looked like it could run in circles around others.

Mansell said that this shows the difference between F1 then and now, he said they'd both would have been disqualified for weaving about like that now. He does have a point - aggressive but fair racing is something missing from modern F1.

Racing at its finest, both looked like they had every last ounce of strength zapped out of them, they had so much respect for each other on the track, both knew each others capability.
