Slain on her wedding day - The Story of Gladys Ricart

Показать описание
In 1999 the beautiful and charismatic Gladys Ricart had her life taken. Taken at the hands of a man who couldn't see her be happy with anyone who wasn't him. The couple were together for about 6 years depending on your source. Their relationship ended and on the day she was set to get married to her future husband, Agustin Garcia did the unthinkable while Gladys was surrounded by family. No matter the situation, NOTHING JUSTIFIES this type of outcome. This woman wasn't this man's property. She had many family and friends who will always love and miss her. She should still be here today. Let's take a moment to remember her story. My heart goes out to all of Gladys's friends and family. Rest In Peace Gladys Ricart. You aren't forgotten.

I worked at Doubleclick where the killer worked when this happened. i didn't have much interaction with him, but when i did he portrayed a really nice, quiet person. goes to show you never know who a person truly is.

She was a beautiful woman and I know her husband probably has survivor's guilt for not being able to protect his wife. Maybe her family didn't want to ruin her wedding day and thats why police weren't called. I won't bash or blame them bc I'm sure they live in regret and would do it differently if they could. Rip Gladys and i hope that monster doesn't get paroled

I’m sorry… I DO NOT understand why the family sees that the physically ex-boyfriend is outside the wedding and didn’t immediately call Police. At the very least it’s trespassing, at best, they haul him away for gun possession.

My mom worked with Gladys and was getting ready to go to the wedding when she got the news. Gladys was always so sweet and loving. This haunted my mother until the day she died. Gladys did not deserve what happened to her but I am glad her story is still being told.

So we are supposed to believe he didn't know she was dating someone else. Did she not have an engagement ring. I'm sure people talk in that community, and people knew about the wedding. So this crap about him just happening to show up on her wedding day, and going into shock seeing her in a wedding dress does not fly with me. Where were you going with the gun and FOR WHAT?? It was ok for him to run around with whoever he please, but she couldn't get married once she found someone that actually wanted to get married. He was just an evil jealous demon. His lawyer really annoyed me.

If she was treated like this by him and the family knew this.., why didn't they send him away or call the police? I had never believed him to be in good spirits in congratulations.

I’m sorry but NY needs to bring back the death penalty for monsters like this guy! Infuriating that he can possibly be back out on the streets after getting free rent and 3 meals a day for the past 2 decades!

Amazing work on these cases! Love the research, sensitivity and objectivity!

Have you heard about the subway worker that was burned alive during an extra shift for extra Christmas money (for his kids)? I believe it was back in the ‘90’s?

I went to the High School of Fashion Industries with a cousin of Gladys from 1998 - 2002. He told me about this horrific crime. It was a heart breaking story what happened to this young woman. I hope her family has found peace 😓 🙏🏼

Thank you for keeping Gladys’ story alive. As a domestic violence survivor, her story hit me hard. I hope to one day march in the Bride’s Walk.
If you see something, say something. 💜💜💜

I’ll never forget this case because this is the day so many women dream of. So sad and tragic this woman had to die this way. Thank you for sharing her story.

It seems so insane that someone who is so emotionally unstable and has such a lack of empathy for Human life that they would kill another person out of jealousy like this, and would be eligible for Parole at some point after being sentenced.
As if doing 30 years in Prison makes up for someone not being alive anymore, as well as the untold amount of lives that were shattered because of that persons actions, smfh.

I have NEVER seen someone show the consideration you did by not posting the footage without that disclaimer. Thank you.

I remember the full length commentaries about this story and the videos showing the mortifying scenes. What a horrible thing to happen just for simply wanting to move on with your life.

I remember her family on Sally Jesse. I also remember she posed in her wedding gown days before her wedding because she didn't want too much time taken between the church vows and the reception for photography. She wanted to spend as much time with her family as possible. I thought that was so considerate and probably more relaxing. I plan to do the same on my wedding day. I hope her son and family are well❤.
