Yeah. GOTY. I also don't think there were too many mini games. No. I don't wanna go back into the game and redo the mini games on my second playthrough. But there aren't many games where you play over 100 hours and say. I. WANT. MORE. And if I could wipe my brain and play it for the 1st time again I would in a heartbeat and put another 100+ hours into it.

When I read a good book, or play a good game, I leave it a year to re-read or re-play so that I still have some excitement so that I retain some freshness. That's true for the OG, too, which I still love so much. I'm currently replaying Suikoden II, an absolute classic and my second favourite rpg after FF7, which will be re-released next March. A great way to fill in the time before FFVIIRemake no 3 comes out!

I really hope so! I have some friends that I want to introduce to ff7. They keep getting distracted by other other games to try it out 😢. Hoping if ff7 becomes GOTY that it helps them to have this under their radar and they give this amazing series a good try!

I suspect this Remake trilogy will receive the Lord of the Rings treatment where by the time the third one comes out they'll just nominate and let it sweep a bunch of categories (including Game of the Year) to make up for ignoring the previous two entries.

Absolutely yes! There have been some decent games this year but nothing else is really on the same level as Rebirth in terms of sheer quality and scope

For me, it's in that FFX/FFXIV tier of, I am glad I've done everything there is in that game, but if I had to go and do all the grinding again I would be put off. Thankfully, FFVIIR2 lets you replay without having to do all the mini-games, so that's great for me if I want to refresh before the last chapter

The problem is that FF7 Rebirth should be GOTY. In every sense, they deserve it. But Wukong has such hype that it might overshadow it. Which would suck alot and feel super undeserved.

Definitely is the best game of 2024 has the best story line and had the shocks and hope part 3 will be amazing as well wish I could go back and replay it for the first time again

On the penultimate chapter at the moment and I truly think it is game of the year. Initial thoughts on it were mixed but once the story clicked into place and I understood that and the combat system and gameplay loop fully, the game reignited my love for Final Fantasy in general. A fantastic JRPG that some have misunderstood for sure and it deserves the praise!!!!
