The boat wasn’t in great shape, many of the jobs didn’t get done, and not all the work done was up to spec.

This is a new factory for HH, and CURIOSITY is the first finished boat they have worked on.  So, it was a bit painful and it took far longer than expected. Let's just say it was a series of unfortunate events for all of us.

As you can imagine, everyone at HH feels TERRIBLE about the whole situation.  They have assured us that they stand behind their product and their customers.

The Cebu factory now has new management, new systems in place, additional experts, new training programs and has undergone infrastructure changes.  Just before we left, we were able to meet Rudy, the new general manager.  He is an impressive fellow with 24 years in design and manufacturing in the marine, automotive, aerospace and defense industries. He shared some of his grand plans for the Cebu factory and I do believe him when he says all future work will be up to the high standards HH is known for.

So, while it has been a very stressful and expensive five plus weeks of living out of hotels.  We are happy to be back in our home and preparing for our next big passage. Plus, we get to share the journey with some of you, our Curiosity Crew!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of explorers, modern-day documentarians, and cultivators of curiosity.

We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us.

Things We're Most Curious About...

GETTING OFF-GRID
Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. So self-reliance and sustainable living are a must. We've learned heaps about renewable energy, managing waste, creating safe drinking water and foraging for food. We carefully manage our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so.

TALKING TO STRANGERS
People are busy (even on remote islands) and travelers are a dime a dozen. It takes time to talk to strangers, and even more time to have a real connection. Going the extra mile to get to know someone is a commitment.

Which is why these are our most treasured experiences. Setting off into the world with curiosity as our guide and nature as our compass. We talk to strangers and accept hospitality without fear or reservations. Both giving and receiving.

ALTERNATIVE LIVING
These are people who are doing things differently. Forgoing the mainstream, seeking freedom and living on the margins. Creative, unique and inspiring people who challenge our ideas of home and community.

Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity

HH is lucky that the Wynns are the owners, they are such gracious people.

Very much appreciate you guys showing things without “YouTubing” it and making it perfect. You’re respectful and understanding of HH and issues but also we see how frustrating it all is. I love Nikki saying it’s gonna be good so many times like she’s trying to speak it into existence and give herself positive affirmations. I love how resilient the Wynn’s are and try to laugh it off. Hope it all works out. Safe travels

Y'all are more tolerant than 99% of people, most would've said "get me a new one" or "give me my money back".

This is "The old man in a nursing home in Ohio "and you bring so much happiness to my day letting me see you live your lives through your eyes. Thank you both so much and stay safe and know there's an old guy that loves you both ❤️!

I just have to say, God bless you guys for all your trials and troubles. I hope HH pays for all your stay and gets things fixed right. And also, I know behind the scenes you must have tears, frustration and some righteous anger, but in all you two have shown much more grace than I would have. You don’t sugar coat your boat life and that’s why I totally appreciate the work you do and your transparency. You two are amazing! Praying for better seas ahead.

You attitude for the frustration you have is much better than 99% of the people would have, so I have to give you huge props for that.

I don’t know any more patient, thorough & considerate people than Jason & Nikki! They are eternal optimists, and to see them dealing with many challenges from being stuck during the lockdown, to being without a boat after selling Curiosity and waiting for their new boat and now all these issues! God bless them!

You guys have got the patience of a saint ! I really don’t understand how you are so calm with the clown show that is going on with your boat.

You all are too kind. The crew doing the warranty work have a punch list. It's not that they forgot, they just didn't do it. Yes, they knew they would have to come back to finish so they went home

This video really explains what I’ve been watching over the last few months. I could see your reaction and it was not aligned to the delight I expected. I really hope you get the quality that you paid for.

I sold my boat 11 years ago because of reaching 70 and unable to stop growing older and weaker and have lived vicariously through yours and others channels since. I’ve questioned my selling decision many times since then but watching you guys today has reassured me that it was the right thing to do. Man, I was so worn out by your experience that I’m gonna have to take a nap. When stuff like you are going through happened to me I didn’t even want to talk about it with my wife but you even add the hard work and frustration of taping and editing all of it. WOW, you are the strongest most hard working and optimistic couple on the water in my opinion. Stay strong and beautiful in your journey, and know that some far off day you’ll probably look back at these videos and wonder how you ever did it. Love from us!

Some comments. 1. Good that HH changed the header tank etc due to stray current. Keep an eye on the engine bearings, which are usually copper lined. Not normally an issue, but you appeared to have a significant stray current problem. 2. We purchased a 2 drawer Vitrifrigo fridge/freezer 4 years ago (tomorrow is the actual purchase date). It was highly recommended by a very competent marine refrigeration engineer. As a former marine engineer with a fridge endorsement, I was very impressed with the build quality. It continually broke down during the warranty period (and repaired by the same engineer that recommended it). 3 years in the unit totally failed and being away from our home country, we were obliged to use a third party agent that claimed to be an authorised agent (but wasn't). They rebuilt the unit - new controllers throughout, new ventilation fans throughout, change of type of gas (gas that was in use was banned in the country we were in) and several leaks repaired. Vitrifrigo never replied to the dozens of emails I sent them, and the original seller merely referred us back to Vitrifrigo. Great unit and very happy to have it on board, but frustrating that what was an expensive piece of kit failed so often.

I think Keith And Renee on Zatara Had it correct when they where looking Said Nah we just keep what we have and Improve on the Model we have. HH May be the Bees Knees but at the End of the Day the KISS principle seems to win Out. More Concerned on Nikkis Health concerns !!! Dont mess around with that seek the Best Care. Following Along Guys !! And THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR SCRATCHES AND DINGS AND DAMAGE ON THAT BOAT !!!! HH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WORKERS THEY PUT ON YOUR BOAT.

Appreciate you keeping it real! The fact that HH didn’t have a responsible individual at the haul out for probably their most visible build tells you everything you need to know

Holding folks accountable in a respectful and professional manner, from you and the company, is really educational. Appreciate yall sharing your experiences.

Hey guys, great video as always. You might consider sending some of the rusty stainless bolts off to a reputable inspection company for a metallurgical analysis. I suspect there is more to the story. Many overseas vendors supply inferior hardware that is sold as 316 Stainless but may not actually conform to any standards. I would expect HH to vet their suppliers but you never can tell.

You guys show incredible resilience and grace when most people would be spitting nails. I think HH got a pretty easy ride from you in this video and hope they repay the debt they owe you for not throwing them to the wolves. There are no rainbows without rain, thanks for keeping it real.
