Hi Eduardo,
Both of the company’s parts you mention are of the highest quality with no performance issues at all. You can feel very comfortable that either one will work equally as well and are also designed to be used with the OE spark plug.

I had never heard of indexing plugs until this morning. I read about it in an article about gaining free horsepower. But what you're describing is exactly the opposite of what they suggested. They said to get the "open end of the gap" facing the intake port. I'd love to see some real information on any of this. Maybe one day if you're doing a dyno session, put this to the test and see if you can find any measurable difference. Thanks for the good video!

Hi Perezpau,
The key is to have the open side pointed towards the squish side. The ground strap is facing away from the intake because the theory is that the air and fuel will wet the spark plug, reducing the size of the spark, and all of the air/fuel mixture is being pushed towards the squish area in the combustion stroke so you want that area open to the largest spark possible.

Hi Otis,
We have both designs available depending on the type of spark plug you are using.

Hi Arriagarobert,
The spark plug ground strap should face away from the exhaust valve. When the cylinder head is mounted on the engine, depending on the side the intake valve is on, the ground strap will be between the 4 & 5 o’clock position or the 7 & 8 o’clock position. This leaves the open gap of the spark plug facing the exhaust valve and away from the intake valve. Thanks for watching!

I want to index my spark plugs... the problem i have is I know the strap faces the exhaust valve, but - I cant figure out after I mark my plug where to stop... I dont know where my exhaust valve or intake valve is lol... I dont want to remove my head. I looked for an image but no luck. 2017 gen 3 hemi 5.7. any ideas how to find? please and thanks!

OK cool thanks. Speaking of spark plugs, for performance what's the best spark plug? Copper, platinum, dbl platinum, or iridium?

All the other videos on youtube say to point the open side towards the intake valve. So im confused.

But won't the spark plug be further away from the chamber?

Not quite sure I understand what this is I will definitely have to do more research on it sounds interesting

Do you use both tapered or flat wsshers

Hi Irving,
The spark plug depth should be adjusted if the piston is going to hit the plug. Thank you for watching! Let us know if you have any additional questions.

How do you index if the heads are on the vehicle? And on my 6.2 some plugs I can't even see. So if your facing the head the open face of the ground strap should be facing the firewall?

Is there a particular way to index e3 plugs? I hear it's important, but have yet to see what works the best

What about dohc? Hemi-chamber with squish side. Is the ground strap facing the in between the intake valves for better propagation.

I want to try this. So, can this be done without those washers? Also is it better to face the open end towards the intake or the exhaust valves?

This video assumes I know precisely where my intake valve is located and that my engine doesn't have spark plug tubes through the valve cover. I've never had my cyl head off and can only best-guess precisely where the center of my intake valve is, and plug tubes keep me from seeing the indexing mark I've made on the plug. It's just not worth the minute hp gains, but thanks for posting

Irving,
Copper core is going to be your best bet; they have less resistance and great heat transfer qualities. Give us a call on the tech line and we can help you find the right part number. 1-330-630-0240.

Just use a Bosch tri electrode and dont worry about it, no need to waste any time or money. Another option is iridium plugs, the are higher power and work great with MSD type systems and indexing not needed.
