Video Transcript:

I was working as a freelance illustrator and artist before I found the program, and I enjoyed my work, but I was in a little bit of a rut, just wanting to push it further and wanting to really break into the science field.

Material wise I was really already kind of comfortable with my, with a lot of my kind of rendering skills, but as applies to different mediums, it was like, it was a whole game changer.

I think it was really nice having people that are doing what you're doing. It's such a niche kind of field, so having other people that are interested in the same things and doing the same work and can commiserate when you're, you know, drawing something for 27 hours. So it was, yeah, the classroom network was really important, I think, too.

And I think for me having already gotten my bachelor's degree and having gone through college when I was younger, this felt like a really great opportunity, a second chance as a more mature adult to really get the maximum amount that I could out of the education, because it is such a privilege to be able to be educated and I think there's just so many opportunities at UW. I mean, this campus, I mean, it's just so rich with the libraries and just being in a learning institution, I just love it so much, so I really, I have nothing but positive things to say about UW, I loved it here.
