I am slow at processing the books I read, but for the first time ever, I have had FOUR books on the go! What are they and why am I reading so many?

Hi Jonty, there is an old Chinese saying about reading books. It says ，”读好书如交良友，看云飞误人视” literally translated as “Reading a good book is like having good friends while watching the passing clouds is an illusion.”

Hello Jonty, I LOVE Talking To Strangers, generally anything Malcolm Gladwell. Have you read The Art of Charlie Chan Hock Chye ? It's interesting, comic form, about the changing Singapore of the 60s to 80s.

I’ve stumbled upon this documentary on YouTube and thought that you may be interested in it. (Feels like I have been transported though time and seeing Singapore through my parents’ eyes!)


This is a documentation of the thought processes and sentiments behind the early redevelopment of Singapore circa 1960s and 70s. It really highlighted how thoughtful and considerate the government city planners were towards the people of Singapore.

The late Mr Chua Peng Chye was appointed to the project team established by the SG government to develop our first island-wide land use plan. This plan served as a blueprint for the physical development of Singapore and is still in use to this day.

What we (myself included) see, feel, touch, use and occupy on this island city in our daily lives is the reality from the above vision.

Am a closet SG heritage lover and hope you’ll enjoy it!
