"Fame" is an American television series broadcast between 1982 and 1987. The series is a continuation of the 1980 film "Fame". The series featured a good part of the cast of the film version. The adventures, misadventures, efforts, successes and frustrations of the teachers and students of the New York School of Art were narrated. Young aspiring artists had to train in various disciplines: dance, singing, literature and acting until they achieved the desired success. Janet Jackson played a student named Cleo Hewitt (in season 4), Nia Peeples played a student named Nicole Chapman, a dancer and singer who dies in season 6 in a car accident (seasons 4–6), and Cynthia Gibb played a student named Holly Laird, an actress of great beauty (seasons 3–5).
