Hal Ketchum is one of the unsung great voices of 1990's country music. Hailing from upstate NY, Ketchum was no superstar hat act, moreover a genuine singer with soul who made brilliant hit records like Small Town Saturday Night. Here Hal breathes life into the great Vogues track Five O'Clock World with this magnificent solo version, recorded live in 1992 and preceded by an interesting interview - great singer and great song!

Great singer. One of my favorites. Sorely missed. Gone way too soon.

I attended Greenwich High School with Hal. He was a friend of my brother. We had some very talented musicians in our school and Hal was surely one early on.

I saw Hal at the Grizzley Rose in Denver in about '92. I was with my ex-wife, and our marriage was falling apart at that time. We had listened to his music quite a bit and we both really liked him. This was probably the last good time that we had together. Although we both moved on and found new life-long partners, those nine years which I spent with her were beautiful, but bitterly sweet. Hearing this again is very haunting to me and very hard to listen to. But I still love it.

My first concert was Alan Jackson with Hal as the opener at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum when i was 8. I enjoyed Hal way more than Alan. This is my favorite song of his.
