The Golden Age of Catalysis!

Traditionally, Gold has not been considered a useful element in chemical synthesis.
Seemingly inert, it's never been found to react well (or at all) with other elements.

But chemists at the University of Manchester have discovered that by directing Gold using coordination complexes
can lead it to be fantastically effective as a catalyst. We could be entering a new golden (ha!) age in catalysis,
with the door potentially open to new discoveries in pharmaceuticals and organic synthesis.

Digging nuggets that size up is gonna start some serious prospecting off.

I dropped a gold coin into a bottle of tonic water just out of curiosity. When I saw the reaction, I decided to research this topic.

University of Manchester??? Looks more like the university of Valencia or Madrid. Where are the British students of chemistry?
