"You Can Call Me Al" is a fantastic song from the album "Graceland", written and produced by American singer-songwriter "Paul Simon" in 1986.
He is known both for his solo work and his collaboration with Art Garfunkel. He and his school friend Garfunkel, whom he met in 1953, came to prominence in the 1960s as "Simon & Garfunkel". Their blend of folk and rock, including hits such as "The Sound Of Silence", "Mrs. Robinson", "America" and "The Boxer", served as a soundtrack to the counterculture movement. Their final album "Bridge Over Troubled Water" is among the bestselling of all time.
"Paul Simon" came up with the name of "You Can Call Me Al" after the host accidentally addressed him as Al and Simon's then-wife Peggy Harper as Betty at a party. The song focuses on a man suffering from a midlife crisis. The single reached a high chart position in the UK at No. 4 and a medium chart position in the U.S. at No. 23. Enjoy the remix.
