Santorum: Obama does not believe America is 'exceptional'

In an interview with CBS News political analyst John Dickerson Thursday, former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), who is exploring a campaign to become the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, criticized President Obama's foreign policy, saying that the president's actions indicate that he does not believe America is "exceptional."

Ron Paul also wants to do away with all aspects of the federal government that help people: Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, student loans & grants, etc. During Katrina he said he didn't believe the federal government should be aiding the people in New Orleans - while they were drowning! He thinks the government should never have enacted Civil Rights legislation. People don't like Ron Paul for specfic reasons, yet his supporters screaming "WAKE UP!" are too thick the WAKE UP for themselves!

Say what you want about the guy, Santorum supported an amendment to N C L B that allowed for teaching of BOTH evolution AND intelligent design in classrooms. He publicly admonished the National Weather Service for slow response during Hurricane Katrina . . . if his views make people uncomfortable, apply this quote to his demeanor - "Discomfort is a symptom of ambition."

I must say, that was an excellent debate on the part of Santorum and the interviewer. I take issue with what Santorum said about Obama's timing in taking action in Libya. Obama allowed time for Americans that were living in Libya to vacate the country. We cannot take that sort of action in a couple of day's. I have not doubt that there are many considerations that go into the timing of such action of which Santorum has no knowledge nor appreciation. The action was ultimately a success - period

Rick it is time to employ the buses. Pull as many people to the polls as you can, Romney stacked the deck a couple times against you with this trick. You must do the same. Spend every dime you have on buses and ads about Romney and his wall street friends who are more concerned for profits than people to win his state.

It is funny he talks about the president not saying he went into Lybia to defend freedom and overthrow Gaddafi. It is not legal to invade a country to overthrow another leader like Iraq with no ties to 9.11. But we can protect from genocide so the presidents approach to Libya I believe was a smart approach. What Santorum would have done according to this is exactly what Bush did in Iraq.

America is stupid for voting for this guy, Santorum. Vote for Romney because he has a better chance against Obama. Republicans need a candidate that will attract those that are "in the middle, " someone that isn't too conservative. Santorum doesn't have a chance against Obama.

Santorum doesn't want welfare programs. He says his grandfather received welfare but ultimately gave it up because he saw it was a dead end. Welfare has problems and it should be designated to the states so they can manage it better (ala Ron Paul). Imagine if Santorum's grandfather would have received effective welfare and effective programs for higher education. Then perhaps grandpappy Santorum would have run for president in his lifetime. That to me is the American dream of social mobility.
