The only thing I really keep consistent is my greeting whether they are regulars or the first time I see them. I make sure to smile at least 80% of the whole class and always tell them at the beginning I’m very happy to have them in class. This 100% of the time makes them relax and smile and sets the tone for the class. Also at the end of class I tell them in person and in the comments I would love to see them again. It’s the little things that make a difference. Few days shy of year 2! 🤗

Pro Tip: If you are teaching the lower levels, keep it simple! Remember it is a full immersion class. When you add more words and sentences than what is necessary it is harder for your student to learn. Keep it simple!!

I'm Blue dahbadee. Tip: when I was new I opened every other PPT slot but if the new me could talk to the veteran me I would have said jump in and open all PPT slots you can definitely handle it. Thank you for sharing this well put together video!

04:48 "Be yourself" Sage advice! Some parents are looking for a "high-energy" teacher for their active child to relate to, (like mine;). Others are looking for a more "laid-back" teacher for a timid or shy child to feel comfortable with. Blessings!

One of the best pieces of advice was. "Your cheeks should be tired from smiling." The more you smile and talk to the student, not at the student, the better your class.

I'm Blue Da Ba Dee - Tip for new teachers: Don't be too hard on yourself. You will make mistakes. We all do. Enjoy getting to know your students and their families. If they booked a class with you, it's because there's something about you they like. You'll do great!!! Be authentic, kind, loving, take a deep breathe and have fun!
