Flash was basically an "oops, I forgot your birthday. Here's your present" project

This feels like a six flags move. It gives me flashbacks to when West Coast Racers opened

Out of the 3 parks I visited this year I got to ride the new Sky Striker at SFGA, Snoopys Soap Box Racers at Kings Island but not TT2 at Cedar Point

Great Adventure really dropped the ball on their 50th. The Ferris Wheel just reopened, Log Flume still not reopened, they closed the Skyride, Flash is delayed. Their new resort costs more than if I flew from Newark to Orlando and went to any park there for 2 days. I love my home park but come on.

1- trains for neither coasters have arrived at their respective parks (edit: whoops! flash’s has actually arrived.)

2- the vietnam rumor is true - shipping labels on surfer came from that park exactly

3- surfer’s parts have been at the park since december; why they didnt start construction in the off-season baffles me. also, i unfortunately believe since the station on surfer has already been built, there’s no chance they’ll add a turntable.

Hopefully this delay allows for some additional theming on both coasters though, itd be a missed opportunity to not make the most of a bad situation

I feel like a good ball park goal for most parks should be Memorial Day Weekend for new rides. If you can open them soon that’s even better, but I feel Memorial Days is a good goal to set in general because it does in a lot of cases kick off the summer season.

I feel this is the new company's opportunity to 'right schedule' the legacy Six Flag attractions to align with CF parks and open attractions at the beginning of the season.

Love all the news! This and the D23 coverage were fantastic!

I feel like Cedar Fair advised that they have already missed the maximum possibility for marketing and just better to open the new rides start of the next season as Cedar Fair has always done...

2024 is just the year of delayed coasters

dont know how true it is but someone was saying Flash at great adventure was a power company issue (JCPL). They said I guess JCPL is taking longer to set up power for the ride. Who knows how true that is but we all kind of saw this coming since they've basically done nothing for a month. But atleast now they should have Flash ready to go early next year and we atleast have a new ride to look forward to cause they werent gonna get anything new next year.

I recently visited Sixflags Great Adventure not too long ago with some friends, we heard a rumor that one of the problems they had with Flash: Vertical Velocity was that it would occasionally cut the power to Cyborg: Cyberspin & Wonder Woman: Lasso of Truth. I thought it made sense since B&R: The Chiller had similar issues when it was still in operation.

4:13 this reminds me of how my grandparents 50th anniversary was delayed to 51st due to covid

I think in my opinion Cedar Fair aka the new Six Flags is going to address this. If a new attraction is advertised for a specific year, they want it open that year. A milestone like Great Adventure’s 50th anniversary should have been planned better. The old Six Flags added Flash “at the last minute”. Kingda Ka was advertised as new for 2005 and it opened that year (a few months late though). El Toro was advertised for 2006 and it opened that year. Six Flags has dropped the ball in recent years.

Since the new people in charge now thanks to the merger it doesn’t make sense to open these coasters now. Six flags always opens their coasters late but these were also last minute additions which didn’t help either.

2:06 that plus if you remember SFOG sent out a survey asking the people to choose a custom game (which I believe went on till like somewhere in January that then survey closed)

This is a business 101 move which is: Pause work so the coaster can open on the first day of the 2025 season (which lines up with Cedar Fairs model-who is now running the parks). This allows the parks to have a new attraction for 2025 and now neither parks need to worry about financing a new attraction and they can use those funds to start cleaning up those Six Flags parks to align with Cedar Fair parks. Also, they will now have the funds to dress up the area similar to what Cedar Fair did at Kings Dominion.

I feel next August this new company will classify each park into a tier and I feel they will make Great Adventure their premium tier. Therefore, this will mean lots of investments for Great Adventure's infrastructure and landscaping.

If COTAland get Circuit Breaker built, 2025 could be the year of the new gen Vekoma thrill coasters in the US. Finally.

SFOG saying there was supply chain issues were indeed true according to the park president during their Coaster Fest presentation. It was also said that the train arrived to the park on August 14.
