Review: Synology DS419slim NAS -- 20TB, Compact Size

The new Synology DS419slim is a great all-around NAS. It is powerful in a tiny, compact body with great performance and nearly no noise. With up to 20TB of storage, it is great for a media server, file server, web hosting, dropbox-replacement, and much more.

Could you all benchmark this device? I would like to see how well it will do as a potential media/offline storing place for media files.

OK, where is the Apple that I sign up for?

Jokes aside, I love my DS918+ very much that I filled it up already, so I want something else that could save the day and cheaper. But this one seems a bit off from what I want and need.

Alright, serious question, at 1:41, did you push the drive all the way in? It bugs the hell out of me.

I wouldn’t say this was the best system for Plex.

Can this be connected to my laptop directly (no router) to be used as an external when I am on desktop? I guess it wouldn't be a NAS then-it would be an external drive. Would be great to also connect to the network to connect when away from home.
