Ron, I bought one of the original eggs from Ed Fisher who had a Chinese pinball business and sold the first generation of red clay eggs out of his shop. Yes, they were red not green! He was located in a small strip shopping center off of Clarmont and Burford Hwy in Doraville/Chamblee Georgia back in the early 80's. The clay pot eggs couldn't stand up to the heat and moisture. The firebox cracked often and the outer shell cracked as well. He provided a high temp epoxy to glue the outer shell back together. The good news, the firebox was under warranty as I brought back 3 of them to him and he replaced everyone of them. When I brought him the last one, he said that he had a new ceramic design that was actually green and would perform much better and last longer. He offered me one at his cost just so I wouldn't come back again! He was a fair and honest man and I always loved to see him, as he always had his hired hand cooking something on the egg to share the great food it produced with the lump charcoal. It was great stuff! I've since moved to the Space Coast area in Florida and gone to all the Eggfests in our area every year from 2012 to date. I was lucky to have bumped into him a few times between 2016 and 2018. It was great to chat with him and he remembered me because of the cracked up fireboxes I brought back to him. Don't know how he is doing as he's been a no show in 2019 and 2020. I wish him well and hope he's still with us. He wasn't a young man in the early 80's! Ed Fisher, would go to China to buy pinball machines and bring them back to the US to sell. He discovered the Kamado style cooking ovens in China and gave them a shot by selling them in the US from his Chinese pinball shop. Needless to say, he was very successful! I've been an Egghead ever since!

I have the Large Green Egg and I cook for 2 up to 6 people with out problems. Love my Green Egg and I wish I bought it 20 years ago instead of 12 years ago. I cook year around in Colorado, even in the snow. I bought a lot of extras that have added to the cooking. Thanks for the review of all the eggs.

how much food do you guys in America eat!! I can eat, and the mini max is big enough for small family. These are amazing things thanks for doing the vids, I want to buy one, they are very expensive in UK not sure if same as USA price or not. Take care and enjoy 👍🏻

Been a sub for a long time.
I like ceramic cookers, not to knock on the Egg but I feel there are equals (Maybe a bit better) at much better pricing.
One thing the Egg currently has that so far others do not is the 2XL with a 29 inch grille.

Oh yeah love those eggs my man and you certainly have options for sure. I wish I would of just built a patio covering instead of a kitchen. I still need to look at Mini max as well.

A friend of mine has a large, but it is not the same shape as yours - more stubby at the bottom half, proportioned more like the X-Large. Have you ever seen a Large like that? I am wondering if my friend has an XL and just doesn't know it. Great video, BTW. Lot's of info, but it moves right along I'm subscribed.

Captain Ron are the same accessories available for all sizes? Really enjoying all the knowledge you are sharing. If I keep trying all the cooks you have shared I will weigh the sane as the 2XL BGE!

Awesome video, very informative, I have the Mini Max and an XL, thinking of getting a medium. Why I need another egg??? Is like asking do I need or want it???? I will take that Amazing Blue Egg off your hands, let me know when you are ready to sell it, I can reassure you that it will get the care it deserves. Thanks for the awesome videos!!!!

Some people are still comparing a weber with the BGE wondering if the price difference is worth it and the benefits v steel. A video will help many like me make a decision.

Hi Ron, What kind of brush should I use on my BGE Castiron Grid for cleaning?

Thank you! Currently deciding between a large and an XL. Any downsides to the XL, as in does it cook differently than the Large, take longer to heat up, etc..?
