PC power supplies are essentialy small scale power supplies, that can convert the AC power to DC power, and power up our PCs. So we can utilze them, and power up devices that need DC power.
This is actually a transformation that is widely done in Youtube, and it actually works.
What you need to do in order for the power supply to start supplying power, is to short circuit the only green cable of the 20 (or 24) pin wire loom, to any black cable of the same or other wire loom. Once it powers up, it starts supplying power to the different wires.

The Yellow wires give out 12V power
The Red wires give 5V power
The Orange wires give 3.3 V power
And the black wires are the "Ground" wires, the equivalent to the negative "-" terminal of a battery.
And that's it. There's plenty of videos on Youtube, so I desided to try it myself.
Ofcourse, every power supply is different, and they can supply different amounts of current. The exact current that each rail can give out, is written on the label, on the side of the power supply.
Be very carful when making electric connections, always insulate the wires properly.
