In my old gymnastics class, the people on bars looked like flying skinny rats and I told them that they looked like rats, and they started a whole ass cult called “flying rats” and they asked for me to join and I obviously did. We’re all still friends to this day and I cry every time I see a rat.

I heard of places in America were male spotters weren't allowed to catch female gymnasts, due to the risk of being sued for accidentally touching them a place where they shouldn't.
I have been a coach and spotter for women and girls for almost 15 years and have never once met someone who would prefer to risk it, rather than let me try to save them.

Spotters seem pretty important I think I would be mad for a split second then realize their just doing their job

Some of the time the reason a spotter slides in and out when you're going straight up is to stop you from hitting your heels and let you still catch
