The defense from Yamamoto was off the charts. He's literally not gonna let that ball fall on the floor. Superb from the libero

the referee clearly knew she was wrong but had a big pride, even the commentators were telling her to look up the big screen. while i understand that mistakes happen, the way she officiated the match and overlooking canada’s 4 touches but was firm with her decision on japan confused a lot of people. still, congratulations for advancing to the semis, nippon ! 🎌

I'm glad that Japan won because that wrong call by 1st ref was so crucial in 3rd set 🙄 as always yuki delivers 🥵

Pathetic ego trip by the top ref in set 3. I'm so glad Japan didn't let it affect them. She should not be officiating any more games for the time being.

Ishikawa showing why he is one of the best players in the world, in addition to being the highest scorer, points in critical moments mainly in Serving. And a great game from Otsuka, he came in to replace Ram and did very well especially in the 2nd Set

This woman referee should not officiate in the forthcoming games, this is the final leg every point is important for each team.

Ishikawa manages to be the savior of critical moments every time

Ishikawa did amazing as usual, but I’m so proud of Otsuka for doing so well in place of Ran. He doesn’t get as much attention or playtime but he’s so good and I’m glad the B-team players are getting their chance to shine this VNL.

Nishida not producing much today but wow Ishikawa is helping the team getting points in any typa way, he sets up a match point and also finished it wow 26 points within 3 sets from Captain Ishikawa is insane he’s a beast 😮🎉

Of course Ishikawa, but Otsuka's offense today was also nice. Hats off to Japan who always kept their composure and showed their strong spirit to win 3-0. I'm proud of Japan which never get anxious and never show their frustration even when they are at a disadvantage.
On another note, what a poor referee that was! I was disappointed that she didn't check the replay footage herself and make changes. 😱

I’m obsessed with Onodera’s block 4:44, Yuki’s kick 7:23 and Sekita’s set 8:06

Congrats Japan for the win!!! 🎉

Everyone did great especially Yuki was on fire and Otsuka was really shine here🔥🔥 he and Yuki like father and son, when he scores or makes error he always immediately looks back at Yuki and smile, I’m really love their relationship it’s adorable ☺️😆

0:21 For Ishikawa to take a big hit to the face in the very first point and still play that well is crazy

Poor 1st referee, she must be replaced in the upcoming games. Her refusing to watch the replay on screen says it all. Either she is just really bad or wanted to be the 7th player of Canada. Well, Congratulations Japan! <3

Otsuka performed so well in this match too.

The refereeing in VNL is confusing. Earlier in the game, the ref made a wrong decision but she looked up at the TV and correctly changed it to Canada's point. But in the 3rd set she wouldn't do the same for Japan...?

Japan, congratulations ❤. What a revenge from the previous loss against Canada, except now, Japan won the game that matters more which is the Quarter Finals.

Yamamoto probably the best libero right now. Dude does not let anything touch the floor.
