The Ringer is the opposite of problematic. He went in there with the mentality that the people with special needs would be easy to beat and easy to trick but it turned out they were sharper and wiser than him. They end up actually teaching him how to be a better person mentally and physically. Great movie.

I had a friend that was in the movie. He had Down syndrome. And his family said it was one of the most amazing experiences of their life. Everyone on set was extremely kind and supportive of each athlete and their families. They said they couldn’t have been more proud to be included in the project. So our family will always love this movie, because it was so much more than just a movie to our friends.

I recently got a copy and watched it again. Totally stood the test of time, imo. I remember watching it as a teen and loving it. It doesn't make fun of disabled people at all. It humanizes them.

The Ringer is probably one of the most respectful films toward people with disabilities I’ve ever seen. It has so much heart.

I have worked with adults and children with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities for nearly 20 years. This movie really pushed me to think about treating others better, sure some will say that the appropriation was inappropriate. But as Knoxville said, the SO was in full support. As well as they casted people with actual Disabilities instead of actors playing disabled people.

I have worked with adults with disabilities for about 19 years, and I was told how great the movie was by a mothers whose son did special Olympics. It was the last movie I bought from Blockbuster. It honestly is one of the best movies I have ever seen. There is so much heart to it.

I work with special Olympic athletes when I was in high school and they are some of the greatest people. The ringer was a great movie and brought out a lot of the spirit of special Olympic athletes.

The RInger is a comedic masterpiece that helped highlight the importance of the special olympics, plus it employed a lot of people with disabilities. I will forever champion this movie, it is forever a favorite of mine.

The story has a lot of heart and it approaches everything with care and compassion and a good moral at the story. It's really no different than South Park talking about a controversial topic and it being filled with swear words or inappropriate language or actions but it having having an excellent message
