You can choose whether to Hold or Tap/Press her Ex Special depending on the situation.

Holding Nicole's Ex Special prolongs the duration of her Energy field, making her debuff and buffs longer.(M1 Effect)

By doing this you're also maximizing Nicole's Crit rate Buff.(M6 Effect)
