President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. holds a situation briefing to assess the effects of Tropical Storm Kristine at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Headquarters in Camp Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City on October 23, 2024.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Tropical Storm Kristine is forecast to strengthen before making landfall over Northern Luzon tonight or early tomorrow morning, 24 October 2024.
In the forecast track, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 has been hoisted over Catanduanes, the eastern portion of Camarines Norte, the eastern portion of Albay and the eastern portion of Sorsogon in Luzon, as well as in the northeastern portion of Northern Samar and the northern portion of Eastern Samar in the Visayas.
PAGASA stated that Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 could be the highest signal raised during the storm's passage.
In response to the anticipated impacts of the tropical storm, President Marcos Jr. directed all concerned agencies to collaborate closely with local government units (LGUs) to ensure prompt assistance for Filipinos in urgent need.
