The University of Pennsylvania is under fire after President Liz Magill's comments at the congressional hearing on antisemitism earlier this week.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is calling her responses shameful.

Amid the growing controversy, there are more calls for her to resign, to be fired and to reevaluate the Ivy League school's policies.

Magill is now defending herself in a new videotaped response.

The fact theyre still in their jobs is extraordinary. There are people who lost their jobs for 10 year old tweets, and these 3 are still the presidents of the institutions

She embarrassed herself and the university she represents. Time to resign.

These Leaders of Universities reflect the sad state of Education in US, rock bottom

The way they smirked and then tried to answer with no answer was a disgrace. They misread the room and the public. They claim diversity but these universities only allow one view and any other view is cancelled.

These women are shameless. How can they hold positions of presidents of universities. They should be politicians the way they replied.

I wonder if the Harvard woman thinks shouting "Go back to Africa" on campus is ok with her and isn't harassment unless you actually make people go back to Africa. And that's not even wishing death on them

They can release tweets and videos but can't say it under oath!? How pathetic, RESIGN.

Did anyone notice the grinning and barely contained glee she had for her answers?

The smug smiles as they refuse to denounce hateful speech is disgusting

The performances of those Presidents was pathetic and pitiful. They think they're smarter than everyone. The question called for a simple Yes or No. Is calling for genocide against the school's code of conduct ? Any sane and sentient person would respond with a resounding Yes

If these women are not fired, that means, all high organization in those 3 universities are rotten. They are just one little example of the situation.

She is now doubling down on the completely indefensible. All three of these people should be fired. When you can't answer a simple yes or no question with regarding if antisemitism is ok, or not, your answer should be lightning quick that it is... NOT OK. Period.

The smirk during the exchange says a lot as well…

When I first heard it I was like - 'There is no way they can get away with this.' But then, I thought, 'They always do!' This is refreshing to hear ...

The lesson to be learned is that over the past 40 years the country has become more accepting of virulent antisemitism. This 'debate' would have been unthinkable in 1980, 1990 or even 2000.

Why is she the only one facing backlash? The others were no better!

This is the problem. These schools get a lot of money from the Middle East: Reports show Cornell University received $1.5 billion, Georgetown University received $748 million, Northwestern University received more than $586 million and Harvard University received over $187 million. These are just a few that reported the gifts and contracts.

I have heard it all now. Them saying genocide is harassment under certain circumstances is saying genocide is ok in other circumstances. Why are they not fired and run out of town?
