I have the 2016 crewmax trd pro and have the same skid plate. It will creek and make noise when flexing in 4x4. Have to have dealership tourque bolts all the time, and that's without line-x. Food for thought.

I think a truck bed spray will be the best option, more durable than any paint. I installed mine in the gray with red letters, wanted that 400.00 dollar skid plate to stand out, red letters match up nicely to my red tow hook insulators, red trd sway bar and red shocks on front end. If you install it on the ground like I did prepare for a wrestling

I'm thinking of getting the cause it looks good and easier to change oil with the removable does for the oil filter. Yes great idea to line x it i would do that too dont they have different colors for line x? Can't wait to see it finished.

@Gearrunner Keep the Red, Nothing better than RED & BLACK. My lifted 1794 Tundra is Black with Red accents. Best color combo is red and black (GO DAWGS! Orange & Blue is gross) lol! Just messing with ya buddy! How’s the wireless charging station?

If your front differential was lowered due to a lift, you might need to get longer spacers. I had a leveling kit on my Tundra and had to make 1 inch spacers for it.

What is the part number for that skid plate?. I was looking on sparks parts and I only see the one without the TRD on it. I gave a 2019 Trd sport

I need a new bash plate.... My stock plate got....well...bashed. Did its job and protected though

What if you remove the letters and linex the whole thing? The TRD appears to be recessed so it would show up after it's coated. I think it would fit the build better. I had my toolbox linex coated a month ago and I love it! My bed has the factory spray in bedliner so it's not a perfect match but that's ok 👍

Saw the dealer try adding this to a 6in and up and just wasn’t working for them. Tried spacers and longer bolts looked unpleasant. They ended up just not installing it
