MICHAEL FRANKS & BRENDA RUSSELL When I Give my Love EXTENDED

A longer version of a wonderful mid 80's duet by the sublime artists Michael Franks and Brenda Russell. 'When I Give My Love To You' was found on Franks' LP 'Skin Dive' which produced his biggest Adult Contemporary hit 'Your Secret's Safe With Me'. Listed as providing background vocals, Brenda Russell really duets with him on this lovely track that has been extended by another youtuber. I have long been a huge Brenda fan; dating back to 1979 and have assiduously followed her career and output - going on quite the treasure hunt over the years to find her stunning voice on an array of recordings and genres. I had not heard the term before this, but Wikipedia describes Michael Franks' form of music as spearheading 'Quiet Storm' - a morphing of musical styles such as Contemporary R&B and Jazz. Certainly Brenda and Michael would fit under that moniker. This is such a beautiful recording; one that perfectly complements both artists sensibilities and voices. Quite magical!

It took me so so many years to find this ultimate classic, never knew the name of the song or the Artists who made it, I was 9 yrs old when I first heard this beautiful song in 94 also 95 and make even more special it came out the year I was born 85, I finally found it this year and learn who made it Michael Franks and Brenda Russell are Magic in this master pace, always loved this song also Piano in the Dark by Brenda Russell, what can I say I love real music and I'm a old soul, 80s and 90s have some of the best music ever, it's to bad we don't get this kinda music anymore, Classics never die!! 🎶💯🔥

This song was at the heigth of my first "wife", the professional piano teacher and Jazz pianist, and my relationship. After meeting we would perform together for eight years in the NYC/Fairfield Co, CT area. She passed in 96.
