Tons of extensions already do this. Plus pinning extensions works like a charm, there is no need for a sidebar. I'd have vertical tabs over it any day.

What data does the extension access? Did you vet the privacy policy?

For translation porpose, I far preffer the ImTranslator extension, since the translation popup as I select a text across all websites. it that much easy and productive, JUST TRY IT!

Maganum sounds like a wonderful extension. However, when I went to install it, I was warned the thing can read everything on your web pages, replace the tab you see when opening a new tab plus it can read and change your browsing history. And, since it doesn't do anything you can't already do, there's no way I'd install that thing. It sounds like malware hidden in a pretty face.
