Bye Bye TikTok? Congress Finally Did Something

Hi Friends!
This week I wanted to share my thoughts on the TikTok ban, if it's going to go through and what it means we should expect from congress and the president if it does. There are some that say the platform causes concern for our security as citizens and others say the app is harmless. I'm not totally sure where I land yet but I've definitely been trying to learn more about it.
The U.S. is also not an outlier with our concerns there are several countries that have already banned or limited TikTok before this ever hit the floor

TikTok has been banned since 2022, in Afghanistan with other countries like Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, European Union, France, and India either banning the app from government phones or altogether in the country.

No matter what happens with the platform in a world with the internet people will always find a way and place to come together.

The funniest part about the "I am not Chinese" guy was that he was from Singapore, and the Congressman would not stop asking him about his relationship to China.

Y'all know why Josh is one of the best newer comedians? Because he makes you laugh, but makes you think while you're laughing. He's funny and smart, the best combo.

Edit: for all those saying he's not new-ive come to realize that he's actually been around for awhile. But I just discovered him about a year ago, and he still looks so young. So he's still new to me 😛.

I'm East Asian and I live in London. When people stop me to ask for directions, I pretend that I don't know how to speak English. I've only done this a handful of times, and each time I do it, I feel guilty for perpetuating stereotypes about non-English people not bothering to "learn the language" - but then I leave the encounter and I feel less nervous knowing that I didn't send a stranger to their immediate doom.
