C J Cherryh's Alliance Union Universe Redux Merchanters | Worlds Of Speculative Fiction (lecture 70)

We have restarted the Worlds of Speculative Fiction lecture/discussion series in a new online monthly format. Each session will have a roughly 90-120-minute-long video (this one is longer, though!), which will be premiered (allowing chat interaction between viewers and myself). Then immediately following that, we will have a Zoom videoconferencing session, where we'll continue the discussion.

This session focuses on an author whose works we have previously examined, C.J. Cherryh, and her Alliance-Union narrative universe. This time around, we focus on the "Merchanter" novels. We discuss the evolving narrative universe of her stories, her intentions and ideas in worldbuilding, the key characters, the timeline, and several philosophical themes of the works
