An introduction to Ol Pejeta Conservancy | Kenya Series Episode 18

Located at the foothills of Mount Kenya, Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a renowned black rhino sanctuary and protected wilderness area. Within its 360 square kilometers you can find a diverse range of wildlife species, visit the chimpanzee rescue center, and even step foot on either side of the equator.

Being one of the most accessible conservancies in Kenya, Ol Pejeta welcomes over 100,000 local and international visitors annually to come witness Kenya’s wildlife and learn about the importance of conserving its native species.

Ol Pejeta is spearheading several ambitious conservation projects, including the BioRescue Project which aims to increase northern white rhino populations — a white rhino subspecies that is functionally extinct — using assisted reproductive technologies. Najin and Fatu, the last remaining northern whites on the planet, call Ol Pejeta home.

I’m very excited to be taking you to this phenomenal place to experience its unique hands-on activities and learn more about what makes it so special.

amazing video! Do you know if one can do a day-trip from Nairobi to Ol Pejeta and whether a specific safari company can help?
