People forget that Israel already has annexed territories that belonged to Syria once. According to ceasefire and purple line agreements, the border was drawn on Golan Heights. Now that Syria is destabilised, it doesnt take an expert to know the likes of Israel and Turkey will most likely make a grab for as much land as they can, so the border drawn with a newly stabilised Syria will retain more land than it gives back.

Also, this is not a matter of the people of Israel or Jewish people, this is the Israel regime led by its for all intents and purposes right wing fascist ultra nationalist regime and those who support it. Syria was always a point of contention that led to widespread humanitarian and refugee crisis after millitants and mercenaries enabled by American funding took to extremist ideologies and a new place to practice their trade (we know them as ISIS nowadays). The government of Assad was not much better than ISIS, as he is known to be a ruthless and brutal dictator, who like most political entities across the globe, is only interested in his own wealth and power, regardless of the suffering of his citizens. This is such a golden moment for Syrians across the globe, as they have a tyrant fleeing, and a new opportunity to start something better. It is hopelessly tragic to see a self proclaimed democracy marring that opponent by shelling and invading a destabilised neighbour instead of bringing security and peace to the region. But then again, nobody expected anything less from a State that is actively committing genocide. Like all atrocities committed by US and EU allies, this too will fly under the radar and forgotten in media and translation.

If you can be complicit in genocide, whats another invasion and annexation? What we are seeing now is the result of failing democratic bodies and the lack of European moral compass, as well as American hegemony that dictates no ally can do wrong, whilst Russian backed entities are always to be aggressed; instead of their standards of justice and democracy. We never got out of the Cold War, look at it burning hotter than ever.

Just as Russia invaded Ukraine, somehow its the voice of reason against America against the genocide committed by Israel. Just as America is helping its European and Ukrainian allies against Russian invasion and aggression, it's turning a blind eye to Israeli led genocide and apartheid. Assad was backed up by Putin. Syria is both hopefully and hopelessly in chaos. Why is Israel making a scurry for grabbing land? Because they can. International Law has proven to be insufficient if youre backed by the greatest military power in the world. Thats the definition of imperialism.
